Hudson, the Columbia County seat on the east bank of the river, is a small city with an outsized reputation. Warren Street, the main street that climbs up from the waterfront, is lined with antique shops, galleries, restaurants and bars, many of them in nineteenth-century brick buildings. Behind it, streets like Union, Allen and Columbia are packed with historic row houses and townhouses, some carefully restored, some in the middle of renovation. Promenade Hill Park looks out over the river at the foot of Warren Street, and the Amtrak station near Front Street brings a steady stream of visitors and weekend residents. Hudson sits near the southern edge of our service area, and it is a place where careful cleaning really matters. WVF Cleaning Services Company, led by Walace Fernandes, cleans homes, shops, offices and commercial spaces here. Text us at (518) 720-2726.
Hudson's historic row houses are narrow and deep, often three or four floors connected by steep stairs, with wide plank floors, plaster walls, ornate mantels and tall windows. Many have been restored with care, and owners want them cleaned the same way: gentle on old wood and original details, thorough on kitchens and bathrooms that have been updated. Our deep cleaning works through these homes floor by floor, from the top down, wiping trim, mantels, doors and radiators before baseboards and floors. Restored bathrooms with marble, subway tile or clawfoot tubs get careful detailing on grout, fixtures and glass. For homeowners who split time between Hudson and somewhere else, a standard cleaning scheduled before you arrive means the house is ready the moment you walk in. Dust settles fast in an older house left closed for a week or two.
Warren Street has a remarkable concentration of restaurants, bars, cafes and shops for a city this size, and those businesses need floors, kitchens and restrooms kept up. Our commercial cleaning covers dining rooms, bar areas, commercial kitchens and restrooms, which is exactly the kind of work shown in our job photos. Antique shops and galleries collect dust on displays and floors, and offices and studios on the upper floors of Warren Street buildings fit our office cleaning service. Hudson is also a city of ongoing renovation, with old buildings being turned into homes, rentals and storefronts. Every one of those projects leaves plaster dust, sawdust and grime in corners, vents and window tracks. Post-construction cleaning clears it out so a restored space can open, be lived in or be shown off as it should be.
Hudson sits near the southern edge of the roughly 50-mile area we serve from our base on 24th Street in Watervliet, so we plan Hudson visits ahead and line them up with your calendar. That works well for weekend residents, shop owners with set hours and renovation projects with a clear finish date. WVF is owner-led: Walace Fernandes is involved in the work and the communication, so the person who quotes the job is connected to the people doing it. Contact is by text only, which keeps everything in writing. Send a message to (518) 720-2726 with your street, the type of space (row house, apartment, shop, restaurant or office), the number of floors and rooms, and the service you want. Photos help a lot with older buildings. We reply with a clear quote and set the date together.
